NaPoWriMo 2019 – Day 17 – “From The Cliff Of The Mountain” – A Found Poem Inspired by “Alone” by Edgar Allan Poe

Hello to you one and all.

For Day 17 of National Poetry Writing Month, I have revisited someone who has been a constant influence on my writing life and whose wonderful prose, stories and poems still continue to inspire me greatly to this very day.

I’ve written a found poem based on “Alone” by the legendary Edgar Allan Poe.

You can find the lyrics to this exquisite poem here:-

“Alone” by Edgar Allan Poe over at Poetry Foundation

The found poem that I have written actually is my fourth regarding the work of Edgar, such is the strength of his muse and long may this continue! 🙂

Thank you for reading and hope you all enjoy it.

“From The Cliff Of The Mountain” by David Ellis

From childhoods

I have seen

Others passions taken

Awaken joy

Alone in the dawn

A life drawn

From mystery

Or the cliff of a mountain

Its tint of gold

From lightning flying

That took the form

Of heaven in view
