Hey there all you lovely people.
Welcome to my Day 19 entry of National Poetry Writing Month.
The prompt over at NaPoWriMo HQ for Day 19 itself was to write an abecedarian poem. I’ve actually done this kind of thing multiple times before, so as a throwback bonus poem treat then why not check out an abecedarian poem that I wrote I while back.
As for today, the inspiration for my found poem was inspired by the first day of NaPoWriMo where they featured a poem written by the phenomenal John Ashbery called “The Instruction Manual”. You can find the lyrics to it here:-
And now here is my found poem, thank you for reading and hope you enjoy it.
“The Weathered Dream” by David Ellis
Wish to write with inner peace
Worry about getting out
Begin to dream
Of flowers wanted most
Elaborate, attractive shades
Where a mood is deep
And carries the crowd
To see little things silenter than the rest
Notice laughing with deepening of reason
From friends, to hear what they are saying
Sincere eyes show sunny welcomes
From a good place against fierce sky
We have reached rich houses and homes
Where there is still
Love, music, drinks and more
That freshens the weathered dream
