NaPoWriMo 2019 – Day 25 – “A Sound Twined” – A Found Poem Inspired by “To Autumn” by John Keats

Hello there my dear friends.

For my Day 25 entry for National Poetry Writing Month, I decided to use a poem from NaPoWriMo HQ that was mentioned in their Day 25 prompt post and went with writing a found poem inspired by “To Autumn” by John Keats.

You can find the lyrics to his splendid poem here:-

“To Autumn” by John Keats over at Poetry Foundation

And now here is my found poem, thank you for reading and hope you enjoy it.

“A Sound Twined” by David Ellis

Mellow friend, the sun

That round fruit

With ripeness to the core

To swell sweet flowers for days

Summer, who seeks a lifted wind

A sound twined

Laden with songs of bloom

Touch the rosy hue, borne aloft

The light lives or dies loud

Sing now with swallows in the skies
