NaPoWriMo 2019 – Day 26 – “From A Beat That You Can Follow” – A Found Poem Inspired by “Some Feel Rain” by Joanna Klink

Hey there everyone.

Not many more entries to work through now for the final few days of National Poetry Writing Month. I appreciate you sticking with me and am feeling relieved that I will be completing the challenge this year!

For my Day 26 entry, I decided to write a found poem based on a poem shared by NaPoWriMo HQ on their Day 26 prompt post.

I ended up using “Some Feel Rain” by Joanna Klink as my poetic muse and you can find the lyrics to her excellent poem here:-

And now here is my found poem, as always thank you for reading friends 🙂

“From A Beat That You Can Follow” by David Ellis

Feel the startle when asleep

The air thick from a beat

That you can follow

It carries sunlight

Below the skin

Wish to lose

Knowing how a second sleep

Is any place so safe

It can’t feel the shift through a dream

You can wait until night

And wonder why all you have

The earth cannot make

It’s you
