Daily Prompt – Tourist Trap – Poem / Poetry – “Destination Destiny”

Good evening ladies and gentlemen.

I’ve been working on another gorgeous bit of poetry with the legend that is Mrs Hastywords.

(If you don’t believe she’s a legend then I’m sure her blog will convince you otherwise!)

We worked from another prompt plucked from the arcane vaults, supplied by the wizards and wizardesses of WordPress and thusly this masterpiece was born, through a hazy, boozy, crazy blaze of blood, sweat, tears, fire and brimstone.

Hasty had to scrub herself off for hours afterwards and I’m still not sure if I will be able to get all of the stains out of the carpet but it all worked out happily in the end.

Particularly for the cleaning product companies.

The prompt itself was this splendid jobber, if you fancy participating:-

Tourist Trap:-

What’s your dream tourist destination — either a place you’ve been and loved, or a place you’d love to visit? What about it speaks to you?

Hasty & I wanted to capture experiences that would leave lasting memories with the reader and once again, I’m extremely proud of the results – this is why I love blogging so much and I hope you all enjoy it too.

Please duplicate any comments on both of our blogs, as it means a great deal to us – your love and support mean the world to us.

Thank you – now let’s go!

Destination Destiny (by TooFullToWrite & Hastywords)

Paris in the night, opaque
A glass of wine, on the veranda
Enjoying fauna, cuddling a koala
On the coast of Australia

Dining on coquetry, cherishing
The language of Italian amour
Venice, the renaissance
So much breath-taking architecture

Get lost in Ireland tiptoeing around
Wildflowers on grassy slopes
Playing hide in seek in
The rocky outcrops of Errisbeg mountain

Oh, how I dream of diving off
The ledges of Acapulco’s highest peaks
Or swimming peacefully
In the moonlit stream of Silver Creek

Golden sandy beaches, waves stimulating
Caressing expectant toes
Exotic retreats replete with citadels
Museums and magnificent castles

Rio De Janeiro, thrillingly cinematic
Panoramic views to cherish, behold
Camping under twilight stars, Texas cowboys
Barbecue Ribs taste like gold

Nature’s art sprawling perfect horizons, faithfully
Each new journey renews my mind’s opus
As I return to the one place that calls to me
Home is where my heart lives, beautifully focused

That sounds great to me! When are we going?

    • Thank you for reading Molly. Sigh. If only money grew on trees then we’d have no trees, truckloads of money and probably very little oxygen to enjoy it with. That’s irony I guess.
