NaPoWriMo / GloPoWriMo 2018 – Day 25 – “Beware Of The Dancing Geek!” by David Ellis

Hello my dear friends.

I’m now at Day 25 of NaPoWriMo and feel like I am slowly clawing my way to victory (very slowly but never mind, I relish the challenge).

For today’s prompt, the idea is to write a warning label for yourself.

Let’s see how this one pans out 😉

“Beware Of The Dancing Geek!” by David Ellis

Too hot to handle
Too cool for school

May contain fish’n’chips, sugar, cheese, quips and alcohol (not all at once)
But it’s probably a sound diagnosis to say that I’m mostly just nuts

A hazardous waste to others with no sense of humour
Risk of exposure to excessive amounts of silliness

Welcome side effects include cuddling pets
Good with children of all ages
Because wherever possible I refuse to be an adult

May cause drowsiness in high doses
Be prepared to stop, look and listen
to your exhausted funny bone
Consult your Doctor if symptoms persist
Don’t say that I didn’t warn you

Health and safety matters
We’re all just wild animals
Mind the gap,
the step,
the floor,
the ramp,
the ceiling
and your head
I’m dancing again
All these shades of shapes that I’m throwing
I really don’t know whether I’m coming or going
Just steer me clear of slippery surfaces
And wait patiently until I run out of steam at 3am in the morning
Then this road will now be closed for maintenance until further notice
(or possibly until breakfast if we’re talking pancakes – and it’s good to talk)

  1. Just for want of an ‘R’ and you could have been Zorba!
I can contain fish’n’chips, sugar, cheese, quips and alcohol and nuts all at once!
(But it’s probably a sound diagnosis to say that this is just a piece of one-upmanship!)

    • You know it is scary how on the money you are with this, bearing in mind that I am part Greek. I should have called it Beware of the Dancing Greek instead of Geek (or maybe even Beware Of The Dancing Greek Geek). I’m also extremely impressed that you can cope with all of that stuff above at once, that takes a considerable amount of skill to balance all the flavours without feeling queasy, I salute you 😉

    • Lol it always tickles me pink when I make you giggle, it gives me assurance that I must be doing something right! And I’m glad you weren’t driving too, can’t have you lying in a ditch when there are still a few more poems left to round off the (rapidly disappearing in the distance) month 😉
