Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 167, #Poet’sChoice #MicroPoetry #Shadorma #poetry #poetrycommunity – “Silent Hunger, Fleeting Shade” by David Ellis

Hello there everyone.

I’ve been writing poetry again and had a go at joining in the fun over at Colleen Chesebro’s website for her “Colleen’s 2020 Weekly Tanka Tuesday Poetry Challenge”.

This week, we can use whatever theme or concept we want for the challenge, providing of course that we write syllabic poetry.

I chose to use a virtual magnetic poetry Wordcloud prompt from the Nu Romantics group over on Facebook.

I have written a Shadorma poem based on a syllable structure of 3/5/3/3/7/5.

Here is my poem, hope you like it!

Almond streets
Skin hot, crave twilight
Voice disrupts
Liquid laugh
Lovely mouth, like dawn, flaring
Hunting hungry heart

If you too want to participate in the challenge yourself then you can find the link to the current one here:-

Look forward to reading your own poetry, if you choose to submit to the challenge! 🙂
