Hey there everyone.
I’m participating in NaPoWriMo 2020, if you aren’t following the NaPoWriMo website already then go check it out at www.napowrimo.net.
Tonight, I have written a found poem inspired by a phenomenally amazing poetic lady, Edna St Vincent Millay. Edna was actually my original inspiration, when it came to the first time I ever wrote found poetry, so I owe her a huge debt of gratitude indeed!
The poem of Edna’s that I used as my inspiration was called “Departure” and you can find the lyrics to that particular poem here:-
Read “Departure” by Edna St Vincent Millay over at Poetry Foundation
Finally, here is my own found poem, thank you for reading and good luck with all of your NaPoWriMo adventures throughout this month!

“Blood Should Stir Again” by David Ellis
What path leads out of heartbreak?
Somewhere, I know my heart must start
Go for a day in a desolate place
With the road in sight
Blood should stir again
On a shore that is bare to the rain
Where enough care and fuss, make something matter
You sit so silently
A knot in thread, goes

Blood should stir again is a lovely visceral line!
Thank you Merril, I agree, I’m very proud of that particular line 🙂
