NaPoWriMo 2020 – Day 14 – “We Float Forever” by David Ellis – A Found Poem Inspired by “Off Shore” by Celia Laighton Thaxter

Hey there everyone.

I’m participating in NaPoWriMo 2020, if you aren’t following the NaPoWriMo website already then go check it out at www.napowrimo.net.

Today I have written a romantic found poem based on a simply divine little poem that I discovered called “Off Shore” by Celia Laighton Thaxter.

You can read the lyrics to her poem here.

“We Float Forever” by David Ellis

Only the stars and moon, alone
Are silently glowing
Softly, distinct, steadily and slow
They change dream, drifting
While silver sparkles
White, now crimson
Touch with tranquil waves
Full of whispers
They call, incessantly
From the wind, to kiss
Murmuring love and sweet sounds
We float forever
Under blissful sky
