Hello there everyone.
I’ve been writing poetry again and had a go at joining in the fun over at Colleen Chesebro’s website for her “Colleen’s 2020 Weekly Tanka Tuesday Poetry Challenge”.
Tonight, I have written a Haibun poem. This is a poem that combines prose and includes a haiku at the end.
I’m also going to make this a “Found Haibun poem” as well. Since the prompt for this week was to use the words “Idea & Fancy”, I have selected a poem written by the legendary John Keats as my inspiration – I fancy that this was a great idea on my part! 🙂
If you want to read the magnificent poem that inspired my own poem then check it out at the link below.
Read “Fancy” by John Keats over at Poetry Foundation
Finally, here is my poem, thank you for reading and hope you enjoy it!

“Wines of the Moment” by David Ellis
Touch rain, wander through the sweet joys of Spring. Its blossoming fruitage tasting the spirit of soundless earth. Heavy sky will bring delights of summer weather, mysterious pleasures. Wines of the moment, plum, primrose, sapphire, every flower, pearled.
Sunny breezes sing
Let loose by soft rain, silken
Such pleasure is home
If you too want to participate in the challenge yourself then you can find the link to the current one here:-

Thank you very much for reading it Vashti, so happy you liked it 🙂 The same to you too, be safe and well!
Thank you!
A beautiful poem. Well done.
TY very much H.R.R, appreciate you taking the time to read my poem and very happy that you liked it 🙂
Lovely poetry for the senses, David. I always enjoy your found poetry. ❤
You are very kind Colleen, I really enjoyed writing this one, Keats has such a way with words, it was an absolute joy to use him as my inspiration 🙂
Now that my house painting project has ended, I’ll do more research on the found poetry and how that inspires us to write in new ways. Lovely work as always, David.
What a beautiful poem! I felt that tug of home 😊✨😊
I may have put out my ‘fruits’ to soon… I have a little raised garden. While it didn’t get down to freezing – I don’t think the peppers liked it too much. Most of the parsley seems to have survived though.
