Hello friends and welcome, I hope you are having an enjoyable weekend.

How about a bit of audience participation! (Yes, you heard me right, we are going to play a little game!)

Firstly hands up if you have seen or heard of the film Pacific Rim? No need to apologise if you haven’t, it was a piece of entertainingly dumb Blockbuster cinema fare that cropped up a few months ago. It was a sort of unholy lovechild of Jaws (sharks with knees), Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots, Transformers and Godzilla.

“Pacific Rim” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Rim_(film)) had huge robots (called Jaegers, although it would have been funnier if they had been called JagerMeisters because – yay, drinking!) that were specifically constructed to smash up ruddy huge sea monsters that threatened our very survival, which was terrible (but if you killed one of these Kaiju monsters, you’d have enough sushi to last a lifetime, almost making it worth the hundreds of millions of innocent lives lost and billions in property damage, if it supports the Soy Sauce industry. Look at me, forever the pragmatist. And hungry too).

So, what was the most gripping part of this movie? The fricking robots and what they were called baby! Some examples of the hilarious names they used were:-

Eden Assassin
Tasmania Tango
Mammoth Apostle
Gipsy Danger
Lucky Seven
Matador Fury and many more

So, why am I telling you all this? Well, it gives me great pleasure to inform you of a game that we should all play (which has more flexibility than a random name generator) where either I can create a Pacifc Rim Robot name for you or you can come up with one yourself – your particpation is crucial, here are the rules:-

1. You can only use your initials – however, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can use two random letters if you prefer but your own initials make it more personal 🙂
2. The name has to sound like a massive robot killing machine.
3. The name also has to sound like it could be the name of a stripper too.

Here are some examples I’ve come up with for my friends:-

My friend Alex is now known as Apache Gyration.
I’m now known as Dynamite Euphoria.
Also, my friends Zak – Zulu Bravura;
Mohamed – Maximus Auborealis and;
Patricia – Pure Mystique – how can you not want a slice of this action? It’s fried gold!
